If you're accessing your Hotmail through Outlook Express in Windows XP and getting
duplicates of every message, here is what solved the problem for me.
Open Outlook Express,
click the 'Tools' menu,
then select 'Options',
then click the 'General' tab:
Be sure the box labeled
'When starting, go directly to my Inbox folder'
is unchecked, then click 'Apply', then 'OK'.
